Tension appears to be mounting ahead of Princess Martha Louise of Norway and Durek Verrett's wedding this summer.

The princess, 52, a second cousin once removed of our late Queen, has condemned the 'lies' being told in some of her country's media about the family background of the 'shaman', 49, a self-styled 'global ambassador of love' who is known as Hollywood's hottest guru and boasts of contact with aliens.

'The truth is that he grew up in a good neighbourhood,' she says in an angry post online.

'It is not important to me whether he was from a family with money or not as a child.'

She adds of the local coverage: 'It is so sad that it needs to be this way as a wedding should be a joyous occasion for everyone involved.'

Online trickster taking the Mick

Sir Mick Jagger's girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, is furious that someone has set up a social media account claiming to be Deveraux, the couple's seven-year-old son.

'This person is impersonating a child — completely disgusting,' she booms online. 'Instagram has been notified but has not taken this site down. WTF.'

Mel, 37, a former ballerina, has been going out with the Rolling Stones singer, 80, since 2014. Deveraux is the youngest of his eight kids by five different women.

Salma's skimpy snap scuppered

Hollywood's Salma Hayek tickles the fancy of her fans by sharing photographs of herself in skimpy outfits. But her family appear to find it increasingly tiresome.

The actress, 57, who is married to French luxury goods heir Francois-Henri Pinault, posted this shot of her being sprayed in the face with water while on the steps of a yacht while on holiday.

'When your family won't let you take a bikini pic in peace,' the mum-of-one jokes.

Charity bash leaves Charles with black eye

Commiserations to the Duke of Rutland's son and heir, the Marquess of Granby, who is sporting a black eye — though it's all for a good cause.

Charles Granby, 24, was fighting in preparation for his latest charity boxing ball, which takes place this Saturday in the guardroom at Belvoir Castle, the family seat in Leicestershire.

'This is the point where everyone's sparring each other so we're getting in the ring, putting the headgear on, putting the gloves on and going 'Ding ding',' he tells me.

'I like to hit gloves-on-skin with everyone. I got a good beating last night, to be honest, but that's all part of it. I like to think I'll beat the next guy.'

Last year, the event raised more than £17,000 for charity James' Place, founded by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in memory of their elder son, James, who tragically took his life in 2006 aged 21.

Should any Britons living abroad bump into globetrotter Sir Michael Palin on one of his many adventures, don't even try to strike up a conversation.

'I never talk to expats — they're the worst,' the former Monty Python star, 80, tells me at the BFI Southbank preview screening of his new three-part Channel 5 series Michael Palin In Nigeria.

'They are England doubled, because they've gone abroad and because they've gone to a strange place! They either absorb the place, or they actually become doubly English in order to preserve whatever they have left.

'The whole point of travelling is to talk to people from that country.'

TV academic Lucy Worsley, who headed to Paris to present the documentary Rebuilding Notre-Dame: The Next Chapter, wails: 'Every morning after I've had a programme on BBC Two, my inbox gets delightfully full of messages from men who didn't like my lipstick.

'It makes me feel like it's 1922 and I'm being castigated by Captain Hastings for being "fast".'

Tom's efforts weigh heavily

Tom Hollander scoffed 'pizza, ice cream, Cornish pasties and chips' to look the part as Truman Capote, the portly author of Breakfast At Tiffany's, in TV drama Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.

The actor, 56, then visited an Austrian spa to lose weight after he 'got breathless doing ordinary, easy things'.

But his effort was scuppered when cast as stocky late Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky in the West End play Patriots.

He reflects: 'I'm a bit old to be messing around with my weight like that.'
